Hosting
Our websites are hosted on the servers of an external hosting service provider, specifically Host Europe GmbH, located at Friesenplatz 4, 50672 Cologne. The servers are located in France. Personal data collected on our websites are processed on these servers. This includes data such as IP addresses, meta and communication data, website accesses, and other data generated through the websites. Our service provider will process your data only to the extent necessary to fulfill their performance obligations and will follow our instructions regarding this data. We have entered into a contract for order processing with our service provider to ensure compliance with data protection regulations. The use of our service provider is in the interest of secure and efficient provision of our websites by a professional provider (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Server Log Files
The hosting service provider for our websites collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits when you visit a website. These are:

• Referrer (previously visited website)
• Requested web page or file
• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Type of device used
• Time of the access
• IP address in anonymized form

The data is determined either through a logfile. The IP address of the visitor is transmitted at the time of a page request, immediately anonymized after transmission, and processed without any personal reference. The data collection is carried out in the interest of a technically error-free presentation and optimization of our websites (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies and External Services
According to § 25 I TTDSG in conjunction with Art. 6 I lit. a GDPR, consent is required if information is stored on the end user’s terminal equipment or if access to information already stored is made. Cookies are small text files that are stored in a user’s internet browser via a website. First-party cookies are set by us, whereas third-party cookies are set by third-party companies to integrate specific services within the website. According to § 25 II TTDSG, consent is not required if the setting of cookies is strictly necessary for us to provide the telemedia service you have requested. This includes, for example, so-called “functional cookies.” An overview of all used cookies can be found in the privacy settings (cookie banner). You can give your consent to entire categories or view more information and thus select only certain cookies.

Transfer of Data to Third Countries
Referring to the above statements, some of the servers used by our cookies or external services are located in the USA. There is no adequacy decision by the European Commission for the USA, therefore it is considered an unsafe third country for data transfers. We process and share your data exclusively with companies to which you have explicitly consented, and we base our processing on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Newsletter Registration
You have the opportunity to sign up for our free newsletter on our website. In this context, we process personal data from you for the purpose of sending our regular newsletters and for our own marketing purposes. The legal basis for this is your consent according to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Inquiries via Contact Form, Email, and Telephone
When you contact us via our contact form, email, or telephone, your inquiry, including all resultant personal data, is stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your concern. We do not share this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, if your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual actions. In all other cases, the processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in the effective processing of the inquiries directed to us.

The data you send us via contact inquiries remains with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for the data storage lapses (e.g., after the completion of your inquiry). Mandatory legal provisions – especially legal retention periods – remain unaffected.

Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You may revoke consent at any time by sending us an informal email. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

Right to Access, Correction, Blocking, Deletion (Art. 15-17 GDPR)
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, their origin and recipient, and the purpose of the data processing and, if necessary, a right to correct, block, or delete this data (Art. 16, 17 GDPR).

Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
You have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data under the following conditions:

• If you contest the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. During this period, you have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
• If the processing of your personal data was/is carried out unlawfully, you may demand the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
• If we no longer need your personal data, but you need them to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
• If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, an assessment must be made between your interests and ours. As long as it has not been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, these data – apart from their storage – may only be used with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a member state.

Right to Data Portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
You have the right to receive data, which we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfillment of a contract, handed over to yourself or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.

Right to Object (Art. 21 GDPR)
If the data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data for reasons arising from your particular situation. You can refer to this data protection declaration to see the legal basis on which a processing is based. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims (objection according to Art. 21(1) GDPR). If your personal data are processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data concerning such advertising. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for direct marketing purposes (objection according to Art. 21(2) GDPR). No profiling takes place.

Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, particularly in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement if you consider that the processing of personal data relating to you infringes the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR).
