Quick help - our service numbers
Whether caused by lightning strikes, switching operations in the network, or distant disturbances – surges occur faster than you think. Within microseconds, they can destroy equipment, erase data, or, in the worst case, cause fires.
ELTAKO surge protection devices keep everything safe and sound:
They detect dangerous voltage spikes at an early stage and safely divert them into the earthing system – before any damage can occur. The installation of such protection devices is mandatory in residential buildings. Standard IEC 60364-5-53 specifies exactly how surge protection devices must be professionally installed.
To ensure your installation is optimally protected, three coordinated protection levels are distinguished:
Mandatory for buildings with external lightning protection or in exposed locations. Safely diverts extremely high lightning currents directly into the earthing system before they can cause damage.
Our products:
Combined arresters Type 1+2 – MUA-30, MUA-50,
MUA-100
The standard level of protection for all buildings (mandatory according to IEC 60364-4-44). Absorbs surges caused by distant lightning strikes or switching operations and keeps the building’s installation clean.
Our products:
Combined arresters Type 1+2 – MUA-30,
MUA-50, MUA-100
Pure Type 2 arrester – MUA-20
Additional device-level protection for particularly sensitive electronics. Captures any residual surges not fully eliminated by Type 1 or Type 2 devices. Always used as a supplement, never on its own.
Surges happen faster than you think – and can cause considerable damage.
With the right arresters, you’re fully protected: from primary protection (Type 1) to intermediate (Type 2) and fine protection (Type 3) – all tailored to your safety requirements. ELTAKO delivers the complete package – well thought out, compliant with standards, and developed for true professionals.
