Problem: What happens in the event of damage or loss of the CmStick?
Solution: A damaged or lost
CmStick can be locked (to prevent its fraudulent use) at
https://my.codemeter.com/
.
The user can transfer his licenses and data (depending on the business
policies of the various license providers) into a new CmStick. The "damaged"
or “lost” CmStick is “black-listed” on our servers in order to prevent
it from obtaining new license information.
Problem: Is it possible to use the CmStick on different PCs?
Solution: Yes, the protected
software maybe installed on multiple PCs, but can only be used on the
PC with the CmStick connected to.
The user can easily move the CmStick to a PC (in the office) or later to
another PC (at home). Even though the protected software is installed
on multiple PCs, it can only be used on the PC where the CmStick is attached.
Problem: Why is the stored data on my CmStick lost if I unplug my CmStick?
Solution: In a standard CmStick (no on-board flash memory), the displayed 2 MB memory is only a virtual disk space, which is needed by your system to identify the CmStick correctly. This virtual disk space cannot be used to store data.
If you have a CmStick/M (one with flash disk memory), you can store data on it.
Problem: I am unable to select a different CodeMeter client PC in the server selection window.
Solution: If a proxy server is used, you have to exclude the other CodeMeter client PCs from the use of the proxy. To do this in the Internet Explorer, just write the IP address or the DNS name of these CodeMeter client PCs in the proxy exceptions list [Tools - Internet Options... - Connections - LAN Settings - Advanced - Exceptions]
Problem: The CodeMeter WebAdministrator will not start.
Solution: 1 Make sure that your default web-browser is not working in the "off-line mode".
2 Make sure that your default web-browser supports JavaScript (JavaScript has to be enabled).
3 Type the URL: http://localhost:22350 or http://127.0.0.1:22350 directly in your default browser.
Problem: How can I use a CmStick on a PC with an activated firewall?
Solution: The CodeMeter Runtime Server (CodeMeter.exe) uses a special IP port (default 22350) to communicate with the PC and via the network. This IP port has to be unblocked in the firewall. So just unblock the IP port (22350) in your firewall settings.
Problem: How can I get a new CmStick master-password?
Solution: Simply register yourself and your CmStick on our webpage my.codemeter.com and send an e-mail to support@codemeter.com. We will send the CodeMeter master-password to your registered e-mail address.
